“Gang 360 Devan” Organised Crime Prosecution

Charges Withdrawn Against 14 Accused

Proceedings were commenced against 57 individuals alleged to be members of an organised criminal group known as “Gang 360 Devan”. The matter was conducted before a special High Court convened within the Kajang Prison Complex due to the large number of accused persons and the security considerations involved.

During the course of the proceedings, the prosecution amended the charges against the accused from offences under Section 130V of the Penal Code, relating to membership in an organised criminal group, to offences under Section 43 of the Societies Act 1966.

Fourteen accused persons, represented by Scivetti & Associates led by Tania Scivetti, pleaded not guilty to the amended charges. The prosecution subsequently withdrew the charges against the 14 accused, and the court granted them a discharge not amounting to an acquittal.

The proceedings formed part of a high-profile organised crime prosecution involving numerous accused persons and significant security arrangements within the Malaysian judicial system.
